Ollie, The Beluga Whale

Today was my 6th birthday. I was nervous I walked into the room. A tall, uniformed lady stood beside the dark pool. She waited for me. While I stood bedside her, a long, skinny creature flew up out of the water and scared the bones right out of my skin. I kneeled onto the slimy floor to pet it. It was a Beluga Whale! One of my favorite animals!

I reached my hand out over the water. The creature goes back into the cold water. “It’s okay, Ollie, she won’t hurt you,” said the kind lady. “Ollie. That’s his name. He looks like an Ollie,” I thought. Then, out of nowhere, a photographer tells me to say cheese. “Cheese!” I say so exited even though I don’t even know why. As the photographer takes my picture, the lady pushes the Beluga Whale next to me. Then…out of nowhere… I feel the wet, cold lips of a slimy Beluga Whale on the left side of my cheek. I never knew that’s how my first kiss would be like.

But…now I know…don’t judge a book by it’s cover. I could never be scared of that little guy.
